José Carlos is a Mexican sprinter, lives in Monterrey but has an uncle and some cousins in Houston. 

He is still active in his career and has been training up to 6 hours a day. During the last week of May he competed and broke a National Record. Right now he holds various Mexican Records in 100 and 200 meters. He is willing to put a pause in his athletic career to participate in Exatlon EEUU season 3.

He started his career in athletics late, he was 22 years old. He was in college and wanted a scholarship to finish his degree on civil engineering.

In 2017 he injured his Achilles Heel that kept him away from his first love, running and competition. He had surgery and therapy and now is back 100 percent.

He is the youngest of three brothers and his mother has always been his number one fan. He doesn’t have a girlfriend and is ready to take on Exatlon, which he considers a new challenge that he can conquer.
