Valerie Loureda is a professional MMA Fighter from Miami. She is the oldest daughter of a Taekwondo black belt from Venezuela and a Cuban mother.

Her father is the owner of a Taekwondo gym. Her, her younger sisters and mother are also black belts. At a young age she made the USA Olympic Team in this discipline, but her dreams were cut short when her mother was diagnosed with cancer. As the oldest daughter she put everything on hold and decided to take care of the house and her sisters. Her mother had a transplant and is a cancer survivor.

By the time her mother recovered, she had already missed her Olympic Dream, so she decided to change sports and that’s how she started her journey in MMA.
