Gabriela del Mar started training gymnastics when she was 5 years old. Her parents divorced when she was little and it made her find refugee in the sport.

Since a very young age she traveled the world representing Puerto Rico. She won various awards and was one of the bests in her age. When Hurricane Maria his Puerto Rico in 2017, most of the Island lost electric power and water, and most gyms closed, including the one where she practiced was destroyed. Gabriela was forced to retire from gymnastics.

After this situation she went to live with her Grandma in Orlando, Florida until the situation in Puerto Rico got better. Later she was accepted in the University of Puerto Rico where she had to change sports. This is when she started training with the Pole Vault Team. She also practices air ballet.
